land, to be known as Section 126B of Article 77 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland, title "Public Education," sub-title
"High Schools," said new section to follow immediately after
Section 126-A of said Article, and to read as follows:
126-B. No white high school teacher regularly employed
in the public high, schools of the State of Maryland shall re-
ceive a salary of less than nine hundred dollars ($900) per
school year, provided that if such teacher holds a high school
teacher's certificate of the first class, and has taught in an
approved high school of the State of Maryland for a period
of one year, such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than
nine hundred and fifty dollars ($950) per school year; pro-,
vided, further, if such teacher holds a high school teacher's
certificate of the first class and has taught in an approved high
school of the State of Maryland for a period of three years,
such teacher shall receive a salary of not less than one thou-
sand dollars ($1,000) per school year; provided, further, if
such teacher holds a high school teacher's certificate of the
first class and has taught in an approved high school of the
State of Maryland for a period of five years, such teacher shall
receive a salary of not less than one thousand and fifty dol-
lars ($1,050) per school year; and provided, further, if such
teacher holds a high school teacher's certificate of the first
class and has taught in an approved high school of the State
of Maryland for a period of seven years, such teacher shall
receive a salary of not less than one thousand one hundred
dollars ($1,100) per school year.
High school teachers employed on provisional certificates
may be paid one hundred dollars ($100) per school year less
than the schedule herein requires, and in any county such
teachers shall be paid at least one hundred dollars ($100) per
school year less than fully qualified teachers.
No white principal of a first group high school shall receive
a salary of less than one thousand two hundred dollars
($1,200) per school year; provided that if such principal
holds a high school principal's certificate of the first class and
has served as principal of an approved high school of the
first group in the State of Maryland for a period of one year,
such principal shall receive a salary of at least one thousand
three hundred dollars ($1,300) per school year; provided, if
such principal has served as a principal of an approved high
school of the first group in the State of Maryland for a period
