SECTION 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be.an emergency law necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public safety, and being passed
upon a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General
Assembly, the same shall take effect from the date of its pass-
age.

CHAPTER 93.

AN ACT to provide for the payment of the employees of the
Circuit Court for Allegany County who are engaged un-
der the direction of the Circuit Court in the Court House
to fix the compensation of the same, to provide funds for
the same and to repeal all Acts or parts of Acts incon-
sistent with the provisions of this Act.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the employees engaged on duty in the Court House
at Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland, employed in the
capacity as messengers to the Court and Bar or as Bailiffs to
the Grand and Petit Juries, and as Court Crier, or in any
other capacity in which they may be employed by the
Judges of the Circuit Court for Allegany County shall be
entitled to receive as compensation for their employment
the sum of three dollars ($3.00) for each and every Court
day or fraction thereof in which they are so employed and
the 'County Commissioners for Allegany County shall allow
and pay the same from the funds of Allegany 'County,
Maryland, which are or may hereafter be provided for the
expenses of conducting the Circuit' Court for Allegany
County.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all Acts or
parts of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act,
be and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first Monday in June, 1920.
