pal, corporation, be and they are hereby fully authorized and
empowered to construct, erect or acquire by purchase and
maintain an electric light, heat and power plant sufficient for
the purpose of properly lighting the streets and alleys of the
town of Queenstown, Queen Anne's County, Maryland, and
for the purpose of supplying the citizens, inhabitants and cor-
p_orations of said town, and the vicinity of said town within the
limits of Queen Anne's County, aforesaid, in the discretion of
the Commissioners of said town, with electricity in sufficient
quantity for their needs in any and all its form for all pur-
poses; and the word "Plant" employed in this Act shall in-
clude all lands, buildings, leases, machinery, engines, poles,
wires, artesian wells and other appliances necessary or advis-
able in the opinion of the Town Commissioners of Queenstown
for the production of electrical power and its transmission to
the point of consumption, together with the lamps required
for the proper lighting of the streets, alleys and public places
of said town and the vicinity of said town within the limits of
Queen Anne's County aforesaid.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Town Commis-
sioners of Queenstown shall have full power and authority to
acquire by purchase to make all contracts for the purchase or
construction and erection of said plant, and for the mainte-
nance of the same; to purchase all supplies and materials need-
ed in conducting, maintaining and repairing the same and for
the extension and enlargement of same to meet all legitimate
demands; to employ such superintendents, workmen and other
employees as may be necessary and proper to carry on said
plant and to fix their compensation; and to do all acts neces-
sary to carry out the provisions of this Act and the accom-
plishment of the objects thereof.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the Town Commis-
sioners of Queenstown shall have full power and authority to
acquire by purchase, lease, gift, devise, or by condemnation
in the manner prescribed in Sections 360 and 366. inclusive, of
Article 23 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
any land or interest therein, any pole line, with its equipment
of wires, switches, lamps, etc., already erected for electric
light purposes in the town of Queenstown aforesaid, or in
Queen Anne's County beyond the limits of said town, which
may be needed for the construction, operation and maintenance
