shall be submitted to the registered and qualified voters of
Wicomico County, Maryland, on the first Monday in May,
1920, at an election to be then held, and the Supervisors of
Election for Wicomico County, Maryland, are hereby directed
to have ballots printed to be used in said election, in clear
plain, bold Roman Capital twelve-point type, "Shall Bonds
for $200,000.00 be issued by the County Commissioners of
Wicomico County, Maryland, for the purpose of building new
school houses, improving and repairing old school houses, and
equipping same in Wicomico County, Maryland, as provided
by Chapter 80, of the Acts of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, Session 1920."
After which shall be printed on separate lines, with a square
or box to the right and opposite the words "For School
Bonds," and a corresponding square or box to the right and
opposite the words "Against School Bonds." Same to be
printed on said ballots as to give voters a clear opportunity
to designate by a cross (X) in a square or box opposite the
words "For School Bonds," "Against School Bonds," his
answer to such question.
The Supervisors of the Election for Wicomico County shall
give notice, at lease fifteen days before the date of said elec-
tion, by advertisement in two newspapers published in
Wicomico County of the submission of said question, pro-
vided, that if for any reason said notice shall not be given, or
not given in the manner prescribed, it shall not invalidate this
Act or prevent its taking effect. The laws in force for the
conducting of elections at time of said election, and the pro-
visions of the Corrupt Practices Act shall apply in all par-
ticulars to the election held under this Act, except as other-
wise provided herein.
That the Supervisors of the Election shall canvass the re-
turns in like manner as other election returns, and they shall
certify the number of votes cast "For School Bonds" and
"Against School Bonds," respectively, and file a certificate
thereof with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Wicomico
County, and another with the Clerk of the County Commis-
sioners of Wicomico County.
If the majority of votes cast at said election shall be "For
School Bonds," then the County Commissioners shall issue
bonds as provided in this Act, but if a majority of votes be
