1380 LAWS OF MARYLAND

CHAPTER 729.

AN ACT authorizing, empowering and directing the County
Commissioners of Montgomery County to put in good
repair the River Road from Wilson Lane to its intersec-
tion with the line of Potomac Election District, in Mont-
gomery County; to use funds, in whole or in part, for
said construction that may be allotted to Montgomery
County for road purposes by the State Roads Commis-
sion under any general law of the State of Maryland or
to issue bonds in an amount not exceeding thirty thou-
sand dollars ($30,000) for said purpose, providing, when
the County Commissioners of Montgomery County issue
said bonds for said purpose for the collection and levying
of taxes on the assessable property of the Seventh Elec-
tion District of said county, for the payment of said
bonds and interest coupons thereon; providing that when
said highway shall be put in good repair and the same
satisfactory to the State Roads Commission, then said
highway shall become a part of the State Highway System
of the State of Maryland, as provided by law for taking
over State-Aid Highways by the State Roads Commis-
sion when the same shall have been put in good repair.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mart/-
land, That the County Commissioners of Montgomery County
be and they are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to
put in good repair the River Road from Wilson Lane, in the
Seventh Election District to its intersection with the boundary
line of the Tenth Election District; and to use funds in whole
or in part for said construction, and in such amount as they
may deem necessary, that may be allotted to Montgomery
County for road purposes by the said State Roads Commis-
sion under any general law of the State of Maryland.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That if the said County
Commissioners of Montgomery County shall not deem it wise,
or proper, to have used for said purpose the said funds that
may be allotted to Montgomery County for road purposes as
herein authorized, then and in that event, they are hereby
authorized, empowered and directed to borrow on the credit
of, said county a sum not to exceed thirty thousand dollars
($30,000) for the purpose of putting in good repair and satis-
