1362 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 720

SECTION 2. Be it further enacted, That all Acts or parts
of Acts inconsistent with the provisions of this Act be and the
same are hereby repealed.

SECTION 3. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1920.

CHAPTER 720.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections
44, 46, 47, 56. 67, 68, 70 and 71, of Article 99, of the
Maryland Code, as passed by the General Assembly of
Maryland in the year 1918. Chapter 468.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 44. 46. 47, 56, 67. 68, 70 and 71
of Article 99 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (Bagby's
Edition), title, "Wild Fowl, Birds and Game," sub-title,
"Game Warden," be and the same are hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as follows.

SEC. 44. The Conservation Commission of Maryland on
the first Monday in June, 1918, and every two years there-
after shall appoint, with the approval of the Governor of this
State, a Game Warden for the State, whose term of office
shall be for two years or until his successor be appointed.
The said Game Warden shall receive a salary from the State
for his services of Twenty-five hundred dollars per annum.
The said Game Warden may be removed by the Conservation
Commission of this State at any time upon proof satisfactory
to them that said Game Warden is not vigorously enforcing
the game or fish laws of this State, or is not a fit person for
said position. The word "game" shall be taken to embrace
deer, rabbit, squirrel, water fowl (including brant, wild ducks,
geese and swans), rail, coot, gallinule, woodcock, snipe, yellow-
legs, plover, quail (part-ridge), ruffled grouse (pheasant),
wild turkey, English, Mongolian and dark-necked Bohemian
pheasants, dove, reed-bird (rice-bird or bobolink) or black-
bird, or muskrat, otter or mink, or any other birds or animals
that are protected by a closed season.

SEC. 46. Whenever the Game Warden considers that it is
necessary that he should have Deputy Game Wardens appoint-
ed to assist him in more efficiently enforcing the game, wild
