repealed, and that this Act shall take effect from the first day
of June, 1920.

CHAPTER 684.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 75 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Pleadings, Prac-
tice and Process at Law," sub-title "Pleading," to fol-
low immediately after Section 7 of said Article and to
be designated as Section 7A, thereby providing that when
a demurrer is filed, the reasons for the demurrer must be
stated, and affidavit that said demurrer is not intended
for delay and a certificate of counsel be filed.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be, and the same is hereby added to
Article 75 of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
title "Pleadings, Practice and Process at Law," sub-title
"Pleadings," said section to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 7 of said Article and to be designated as Section 7A and
to read as follows:
7A. In all jurisdictions where provision has been or shall
be made for the obtention of speedy judgments, whenever a
defendant files a demurrer to the declaration, said demurrer
shall not be received unless the defendant shall state the
specific grounds for the demurrer, and unless the defendant or
some one in his behalf shall, under oath or affirmation, state
that the said demurrer is not filed for the purpose of delay,
and that he is advised by counsel to file said demurrer, and
such demurrer shall be accompanied by a certificate of counsel
that he so advised the party filing said demurrer.

AN ACT to authorize and request the State Roads Commission
to construct a public road from Clinton to Piscataway, in
Prince George's County.
