provide for the payment of additional compensation to the
Sheriff of Worcester County, as follows:

237. The Sheriff of Worcester County shall receive au an-
nual salary of nine hundred dollars ($900.00), to be paid to
him in monthly installments of seventy-five dollars ($75.00),
by the County Commissioners of Worcester County, in addi-
tion to the fees, civil or criminal or other compensation now
allowed to him or hereafter to be allowed to him by law or
otherwise; and the salary of the present Sheriff of Worcester
County shall commence with the beginning of his term in the
month of December, 1919.

CHAPTER 670.

AN ACT to revive the charter of the Havre de Grace Gas Com-
pany and the Peach Bottom Slate Company of Harford
County, and the Cottage Building Company, Inc., and the
Marble Valley Company and to enable each of them to
continue business as a corporation under the laws of the
State of Maryland upon payment of their franchise and
gross receipt taxes due by the said corporations to the
State of Maryland.

WHEREAS, The Havre de Grace Gas Company, the Cottage
Building Company, Inc., and the Marble Valley Company, cor-
porations organized and doing business under the laws of the
State of Maryland, did through inadvertance neglect to make
payment of the gross receipt tax due to the State of Maryland
for the years 1914, 1915 and 1916; and

WHEREAS, The Peach Bottom Slate Company of Harford
County, a corporation organized and doing business under the
laws of the State of Maryland, was erroneously certified by the
Comptroller of the Treasury to the Governor of Maryland on
May 24th, 1919, as being in arrears for the year 1908 upon its
capital stock tax, when as a matter of fact the same had been
previously paid; and

WHEREAS, The Governor of Maryland did, under and by
authority of Chapter 316 of the Acts of Maryland of 1918 by
proclamation bearing date 8th day of September, 1919, declare
the charters of the said corporations null and void; therefore
