in the same manner and form as required by law of the clerk
and who, in the absence of the clerk, shall act in his stead:
and be vested with his authority and the said deputy clerk
shall receive a salary of not more than eight hundred ($800)
dollars per annum, but nothing in this Act shall prevent the
appointment of the same individual as county road clerk at
the salary fixed by law for such road clerk and the total salary
so received shall not exceed twelve hundred ($1,200) dollars
per annum.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 602.
AN ACT to direct the County Commissioners of Charles-
County, Maryland, to refund to H. Marvin Coster, the
sum of fifteen ($15.00) dollars, paid in error by him
into the County Treasury, as County taxes, and to make
levy for the same.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Charles County,
Maryland, be and they are hereby directed to refund to H.
Marvin Coster, fifteen ($15.00) dollars, paid in error by hint
into the County Treasury, as County taxes for the year 1919,
and the said County Commissioners are hereby directed to
levy for taxes a sum sufficient to pay said H. Marvin Coster
the above-mentioned amount.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 603.
AN ACT to direct the County Commissioners of Charles
County, Maryland, to refund to James A. Hais'lip, the
sum of twenty dollars and seventy-five cents ($20.75),
paid in error by him into the County Treasury as County
taxes, and to make levy for the same.
