120 LAW OF MARYLAND. [CH. 60

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That Thomas H. Bock, Stephen
Frank Dashiell, George W. Colburn, Jr., Albert E. Krause
and George W. Maslin be and they are hereby appointed Com-
missioners, and they, or a majority of them, are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to employ a competent engineer or
expert in the construction of municipal water supply systems
at a reasonable compensation, and to lay out or re-lay out and
to repair, reconstruct, improve, enlarge and extend the system
of water supply and distribution now in use in said town,
and said Commissioners herein named shall have the power to
contract for the building or rebuilding, construction or re-
construction of said water supply system or any part thereof
and shall have power to require the person or persons to
whom any such contract may he awarded to execute a bond
to the said President and Commissioners of Princess Anne
with security or sureties and with penalty approved by said
President and Commissioners of Princess Anne and condi-
tioned for the faithful performance of his or their contract
or contracts, in accordance with the specifications as supplied
by the Commissioners herein named, provided that the said
construction or reconstruction, enlargement or improvement
of the said water supply system herein provided for shall not
exceed in cost, in the aggregate, the said sum of twenty-five
thousand dollars, and provided further that when so built or
rebuilt, the said system of water supply and distribution and
any extension or enlargement thereof shall be under the con-
trol and superintendence of the said President and Commis-
sioners of Princess Anne aforesaid.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That in case any of the Commis-
sioners named in the next preceding section shall die, resign,
or refuse to act, the other Commissioners named in this Act
shall have full power and authority to supply the vacancy
or vacancies.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the first day of June, 1920.
