first year, one thousand and one hundred ($1,100) dollars; for
the second year, one thousand and one hundred and fifty
($1,150) dollars; for the third year, one thousand and two
hundred ($1,200) dollars; for the fourth year, one thousand
and two hundred and fifty ($1,250) dollars; for the fifth
year, one thousand and three hundred ($1,300) dollars; for
the sixth year, one thousand and three hundred and fifty
($1,350) dollars; for the seventh year, one thousand and four
hundred ($1,400) dollars; for the eighth year, one thousand
and four hundred and fifty ($1,450) dollars; for the ninth
year, one thousand and five hundred ($1,500) dollars; for the
tenth and succeeding years, one thousand and six hundred
($1,600) dollars.

Every white teacher employed as a "special teacher" in any
public school or public high school of Cecil County shall re-
ceive the following salary per school year: For the first year,
one thousand ($1,000) dollars; for the second year, one thou-
sand and fifty ($1,050) dollars; for the third year, one thou-
sand and one hundred ($1,100) dollars; for the fourth year
one thousand and one hundred and fifty ($1,150) dollars;
for the fifth year, one thousand and two hundred ($1,200)
dollars; for the sixth year, one thousand and two hundred
and fifty ($1,250) dollars; for the seventh year, one thousand
and three hundred ($1,300) dollars; for the eighth year, one
thousand and three hundred and fifty ($1,350) dollars: for the
ninth year, one thousand and four hundred ($1,400) dollars;
and for the tenth and succeeding years, one thousand and five
hundred ($1,500) dollars; provided that in computing the
salaries to be paid under Sections 2 and 3 hereof, the teachers,
already employed shall be given credit for the number of years
they have been engaged in teaching in Cecil County, and on
and after September 1, 1920, the salaries of said teachers shall
be increased to correspond with the salaries provided in said
sections in accordance with said number of years.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the County Com-
missioners of Cecil County be and they are hereby directed to
include in the levy for the year 1920 and every year thereafter,
a sufficient amount to provide for the salaries of the school
teachers as hereinbefore prescribed.

SEC. 5. And. be it further enacted, That every teacher shall
be allowed ten days' absence with full pay, provided such
absence was unavoidable.
