CHAPTER 542.

AN ACT to create a special taxing area of district to be
known as the village of Forest Park, Montgomery County
Maryland, and to authorize, empower, and direct the
Board of County Commissioners of Montgomery County
to make special annual levies of twenty-five cents on each
one hundred ($100) dollars of assessable value of the real
property of said village, in Montgomery County, Mary-
land, within the boundaries of said village, for the pur-
pose of opening, improving, widening, maintaining, re-
pairing and lighting the streets, roads, lanes, approaches,
alleys, sidewalks, parkings, drainage, sewerage, sanitation,
and other village improvements, and for furnishing police
and fire protection, clerical and other public services, in-
cluding the removal of ashes, garbage and other refuse
and the disposal thereof, and for the enforcement of the
requirements of all conveyances of land, situated in said
village, and the promulgation of building and other regu-
lations; for the reduction of the amount of said special
annual levy; for the selection and succession of a com-
mittee to be known as Forest Park Citizens' Committee
who shall appoint a treasurer who shall receive and dis-
burse said funds also directing the said Board of County
Commissioners to pay over to the treasurer of said village
for disbursement for any of the aforesaid purposes the
money collected on account of the county road tax in the
same amount and manner now required by law to be paid
to incorporated towns in said county ; also empowering the
said Citizens' Committee subject to the approval of the
said Board of County Commissioners to assess the cost of
certain special improvements against the property abut-
ting on streets, roads, lanes, and sidewalks; the collection
of such assessments and disbursements thereof for the
benefit of the residents of said village; also for petitioning
of the resident property owners for the said special
improvements.
