District of Baltimore City, and shall attend at such station
house at such hours and times as may be determined upon by
the Board of Police Commissioners and the Commissioner of
Motor Vehicles. Said Justice shall, during his sittings at the
Central Police Station, transact no other business except the
business required of him by the provisions of this sub-title:
The said Justice of the Peace of the Traffic Court; and any
Justice who may be designated to sit in his absence shall have
the power and authority to enforce obedience to his orders
and judgments by attachment, and to inflict summary punish-
ment for contempt of court by a fine not exceeding in any one
case the sum of twenty-five dollars ($25.00) ; all of which fines
shall be paid to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles in the
same manner as other fines; and imprisonment for default in
payment of such fines shall be imposed to the same extent as
in the case of other fines; provided, however, that the power
aforesaid to punish for contempt shall not be construed to
extend to any cases arising iii the Court of said Justice of the
Peace of the Traffice Court except the cases specifically set
forth and provided for in Section 4 of Article 27 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland as within the power of the several
courts of this State to inflict summary punishments for con-
tempt of court.

The said Justice of the Peace of the Traffic Court, before
entering upon the duties of his office, shall give to the State
of Maryland a good and sufficient bond, with a surety or
sureties to be approved by the Judge of the Superior Court
of Baltimore City, in the penalty of ten thousand dollars
($10,000.00) conditioned to truly and faithfully discharge,
execute and perform all and singular the duties and obliga-
tions of the office of Justice of the Peace of the Traffic Court,
and that he will account for and pay over to the Commission-
ers of Motor Vehicles all fines, penalties, forfeitures and fees
which he is bound to account for and pay ever to said Com-
missioner of Motor Vehicles. The Board of Police Commis-
sioners for the City of Baltimore shall designate two or more
members of the police force of the rank of sergeant to attend
the Traffic Court herein provided and to execute the powers
and directions of the Justice appointed thereto. In addition
to the number of station house clerks now provided for by
law, said Board of Police Commissioners is hereby authorized
and directed to employ such number of additional clerks as
