State in the absence of the owner of such motor vehicle without
his consent. Any person violating any provision of this sec-
tion shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and subject,
upon conviction, to a fine of not less than twenty-five dollars
($25.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00), or
imprisonment for not less than thirty days nor more than
two years, or both fine and imprisonment for the first offense.
Any person convicted of a second or additional offense
under this section shall be subject to imprisonment for not
less than six months nor more than two years.

TRAFFFC COURT.

159. In addition to the Justices of the Peace provided for
in Section 623 of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, there shall be appointed by the Governor, by
and with the advice and consent of the Senate, and if the Sen-
ate shall 7iot be in session, by the Governor, from the City of
Baltimore at large, an additional Justice of the Peace, to be
known as the Justice of the Peace of the Traffic Court, who
shall be a member of the Bar of the Supreme Bench of Balti-
more City, and who shall receive a salary of twenty-five hun-
dred dollars ($2,500.00) per annum, payable monthly, and
shall receive no other compensation or fees whatever for the
performance of any duty required by law. Said justice shall
have exclusive jurisdiction within the City of Baltimore and
to hear and determine all complaints of violations of the Motor
Vehicle laws of the State, and shall have exclusive jurisdiction
where jurisdiction is now or may hereafter be given by law
to any Justice of the Peace in Baltimore City to try or com-
mit for trial any person accused of violating any of the traffic
ordinances of Baltimore City, and shall have concurrent juris-
diction with other Justices of the Peace, committing Magis-
trates or Police Justices throughout the State outside of Balti-
more City to hear and determine all complaints of violations
of the motor vehicle laws of the State, in those cases where it
is convenient for the amised to have such complaint heard and
determined in Baltimore City. The jurisdiction, powers and
duties heretofore vested in and required of other Justices of
the Peace in Baltimore City under Section 158 of this sub-
title shall hereafter be exclusively vested in and required of
the Justices of the Peace of the Traffic Court. Said Justice
shall keep his office in the station house of the Central Police
