An act to Incorporate the Mineral Company of Balti-
more County.

Commissioners
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That George C, Morton, Daniel Cobb,
Francis J. Dallam,. Robert Purviance, and Isaac Ty-
son, Junior, or such of them as will consent to act, be.
|

|
Open books

and they are hereby appointed commissioners, with au-
thority to open boo.ks, at such times and places as they
may deem advisable, for the purpose of receiving sub-
scriptions to the capital stock of the company to be in-
corporated by the provisions of this act, and it shall be
the duty of the commissioners, at least sixty days pre-

viously to the opening of said books, to give notice
thereof, by advertisement in some newspaper publish-
ed in Baltimore city.
Sec. 2. And be if enacted, That the capital stock of
the said company shall be sixty-three thousand dollars,
in shares of twenty-five dollars each, and all individu-
als and bodies politic are hereby authorised and em-
powed to subscribe for so many, shares of said stock as
they may think proper; provided nevertheless, that if
the subscription shall exceed the amount required and

authorised by this, act, the said commissioners or a ma-

jority of them shall distribute the shares of stock
among the subscribers, in such manner as may promote
a fair and rateable apportionment thereof to the amount
subscribed.

Prerequisite.
|
SEC. 3. And be if enacted, That whenever one thou-
sand shares of the said stock shall be subscribed, and
twelve thousand and. five hundred dollars shall have
been paid thereon, then the. said subscribers shall be,

and, constitute a body politic, by the name of the Min-
eral Company of Baltimore county, and by the afore-

said name shall have succession, and shall be capable
in law to have, purchase, receive and possess for them
and their successors, lands, tenements, hereditaments,

quantity whatsoever, and the same to grant, demise,
