CHAPTER 89.
An act to change the location of a part of Eutato street,
in the City of Baltimore, and for other purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor and City Council of Bal-
timore, shall be, and they are hereby authorised to pass .
an ordinance or ordinances, prior to the first day of
May, eighteen hundred and thirty-eight, for the pur-
pose of closing or shutting up Eutaw street in said
city, from its intersection with the Northern line of
little Montgomery street, to the water of the middle
branch, and extending or opening Eutaw street afore-
said, at and from the said intersection in a straight
line or direction, Southwardly, to and along the said
water, and for ascertaining and paying the damages
caused by closing or shutting up and extending or
Opening said street as aforesaid, and the assessing,
levying and collecting a just proportion of the sum of
said damages and incidental expenses, from each and
all the owners of property bchefitted thereby.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That if the Mayor and
City Council aforesaid shall deem it inexpedient to
exercise the authority above conferred on them,
then they are hereby authorised to pass such or-
dinance or ordinances, prior to the day aforesaid, for
the purpose of closing or shutting up such parts of the
Several streets heretofore located in said city, as lie
between the line or course of Barre street, on the
North, of Moale street, on the South, of Hanover street,
on the East, and of Scott street, on the West, and for lo-
cating, extending and opening within said part of the
said city, such streets as the said Mayor and Council

may deem necessary and most advantageous, and for the
ascertaining and paying the damages caused by closing
or shutting up, and extending or opening said streets,
any, or parts of any of them as aforesaid, and the as-
sessing, leving and collecting a just proportion of the
sum of said damages and incidental expenses, from
e'ach and all the owners of property benefited thereby;

Appeal provided.
|
Provided always, that every person who may feel ag-
grieved by any assessment of damages or benefits
which shall be made under any ordinance by this act
|
