CHAPTER 83.

An act to divorce Frances A. Stock-well, from her hus-
band, John Stock-well.

CHAP. 84.

Passed Jan. 26,
1837.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the marriage heretofore had and solemnized be-
tween Frances A. Stock well, and her husband John
Stockwell, be, and the same is hereby declared null
and void, and the said parties are hereby divorced a
vinculo matrimonii,

CHAPTER 84.

Divorce.

An act to make valid a certain Deed therein mentioned.

WHEREAS, by a deed in writing, duly executed and
recorded among the land records of Charles county,
bearing date the thirteenth day of October, in the year
of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty-
one, a certain John Carroll Brent, and a certain Ro-
bert Brent, then of the City of Washington, in the
District of Columbia, did for a valuable consideration,
convey to a certain Wilfred Manning, in trust, for
the benefit of a certain Jane Brent, of he City and
District aforesaid, their undivided interest in a certain
tract of land, situate and being in Charles county
aforesaid, upon certain terms and conditions in the said
deed expressed, and to the said deed annexed, a power
of attorney, executed and acknowledged in due form,
authorising and empowering Robert Digges, of Charles
county aforesaid, to acknowledge said deed according
to the laws of this State; but through some inadver-
tency or mistake, the said deed was not acknowledged
by the said attorney, and has since been recorded;
and -whereas, the parties, grantors, have since removed
beyond the limits of this State:— Therefore,

Passed Jan. 10,
1837.
Preamble


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Robert Digges, the individual named in the pow-
er of attorney to the said deed annexed, be and he it
hereby authorised and empowered to make said ac-
knowledgment in the manner and form prescribed by
the laws of this State, at any time within sixty days
