writing, at a stated meeting, of the society, and may

finally derided on until it has been four full months be-
fore the society, and shall not take effect so long as ten
resident members are desirous of its continuance.

SEC 11. And be it enacted, That if at any time the
debts of the said company shall exceed the sum of five
thousand dollars, any president, vice president, secre-
pear to have assented thereto, shall he personally lia-
ble, for the same, if the funds or property of the said
company shall not be found sufficient for the payment
thereof.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted. That this act shall be
and remain in full force, until the first day of January
one thousand eight hundred and seventy, and until the
end of the next session of the General Assembly which
shall happen thereafter.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted. That the society hereby
incorporated shall be liable for all debts and obliga-
tions contracted during its legal existence, notwith-
standing its dissolution, whether by its own act or that
of the Legislature.

An act to authorise William D. Scott, of St. Mary's
County, to bring into this State certain negroes there-
in named.
|
|
|
Permission
granted.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly nf Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act it shall and
may be lawful for William B. Scott to bring into this
State negroes, Henry, Mary his wife, and their two
children, Ann Eliza and Henry, slaves for life, and the
property of the said William B. Scott, provided he
shall comply with the last proviso of the fourth section
of the act of Assembly, passed December session, eigh-
teen hundred and thirty-one, chapter three hundred
twenty-three, and also with the requisitions of the act,
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
thirty-three,Chapter eighty -seven.
