SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said church coun-
cil and their successors, by the name and style afore-
said, shall be able and capable in law to have, purchase,
take, receive and hold lands, tenements, rents, annui-
ties and ther hereditaments, which may be sold, de-
vised or n any other way conveyed to said congrega-
tion, for their use or in trust for them; provided, that
the said corporation shall not at any one time, hold or
possess property, real, personal, or mixed, exceeding
in total value the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars.

An act to divorce Henrietta Harris, of the city of Balti-
more, from her husband Gowin Harris.

Divorce

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Henrietta Harris, of the city of Bal-
timore, be, and she is hereby divorced from her hus-
band Gowin Harris, a mensa et thoro.
SEC. 2.And be it enacted, That the said Henrietta
Harris, be and she is hereby declared to be entitled to
the guardianship of her child or children by her mar-
riage with the said Gowin Harris.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioner of loans for the State of Mary-
land be, and he in hereby authorised in negotiating the
loan of thirty thousand dollars, which is authorised by
the act to authorise the Governor and Council to build
a new Tobacco Inspection Warehouse in the city of
Baltimore, passed at May session in the year eighteen
hundred and thirty-six, chapter three hundred and fifty,
to stipulate and agree that the stock of this State to be
issued under the provisions of the act shall be redeem-
