An act to Incorporate the Washington County Savings
Institution.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Martin Richcnbaugh, George Fcgtic,
William D. Bell, George A. Bender, George R. Beall,
Howard Kennedy, Jacob Kausler, Henry Burshing,
William Stewart, Henry Freaner, Peter Swartzwel-
der, Benjamin Price, James Swisler, Jr., John Swartz-
wclder, Richard W. Davis, John W. Kennedy, John
Newcomer, Otho H. Williams, George W. Post, James
D. Roman, George Kealhdfcr, Charles Wilson, Alex-
ander Neiel, Jr., William Hawkin, Daniel King, Da-
vid Johnston, John Schleigh, William Weber, John
Martcne, Frederick Humerickhouse, Jacob K. Harry,
Alexander Armstrong, and all and every other person
or persons hereafter becoming members of the Wash-
ington county Savings Institution, in the manner

hereinafter mentioned, shall be and are hereby created
and made a corporation and body politic, by the name
and style of the Washington county Savings Institu-
tion, and by that name shall have succession, and be
|
|
|

capable by law, to hold and dispose of real, and per-
sonal property by deed or otherwise, to sue and be
sued, plead and be impleaded, answer and defend, and
be answered and defended, in courts of law and equity
or in any other place whatsoever, and to receive and
make all deeds transfers, contracts, conveyances and
grants whatsoever, and to make, have and use a com -
mon seal, and the same to change and renew at plea-
sure, and generally to do every other act or thing ne-
cessary to carry into effect the provisions of this act.

Meeting to or-
ganize
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That there shall be a meet-
ing of the members of the Washington county Savings
Institution, on such day in the month of April next, or at
|
|
|
Annual meet-
|
any other time, and at such place as the seven persons
first above'named, or any three of them shall appoint, and
give at least ten days notice in some one or more newspa-
per published in Hagerstown, and in the month of April,
and at such place annually thereafter as the by-laws
|
|
|
Elect officers
|
of said Institution shall provide, for the purpose of
choosing among the members, eight directors to man-
age the affairs of said Institution for twelve months
|
