SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland. That tlic deed or instrument of writing
from Thomas Brail, of Samuel, to Jarob Slagle. and
Roman Catholic Society, bearing date the first day of
corded in Liber J. L. number A. folios one hudred and
sixty, sixty-one and sixty-two, one of the land records
of Allegany county. Stale of Maryland, be, nd the same
is hereby made and declared as good valid and ef-
fectual in law to all intents and purposes as if the same
were made to Samuel Eccleston, Roman Catholic
Archbishop of Baltimore, and his successors forever,
for the use. benefit and enjoyment of the Roman Catho-
lics of Allegany county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That whensoever it shall
appear advisable to the said Samuel Eccleston, Roman
successors, to sell and dispose of the property in said
instrument of writing mentioned, for the better use and
enjoyment of the Roman Catholics of Allegany coun-
ty, he is hereby authorised and fully empowered to sell
and dispose of the same, and the money arising from

that the deed or deeds from the said Samuel Eccleston
and his successors, transferring and conveying said re-
cited part of lot number five, and its appurtenances,
shall be good and sufficient to pass full title to the
