CHAP. 38.

so located as to pass through said property, thereby
defeating the object and intent of the parties in said
instrument of writing named, therefore the better to
secure tlic title to said property in said instrument of
writing, mentioned and to advance the good intentions
of the parties to the same :

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland. That tlic deed or instrument of writing
from Thomas Brail, of Samuel, to Jarob Slagle. and

Roman Catholic Society, bearing date the first day of

sixty, sixty-one and sixty-two, one of the land records
of Allegany county. Stale of Maryland, be, nd the same
is hereby made and declared as good valid and ef-
fectual in law to all intents and purposes as if the same
were made to Samuel Eccleston, Roman Catholic
Archbishop of Baltimore, and his successors forever,
for the use. benefit and enjoyment of the Roman Catho-
lics of Allegany county.

May sell and

dispose of.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That whensoever it shall
appear advisable to the said Samuel Eccleston, Roman

successors, to sell and dispose of the property in said
instrument of writing mentioned, for the better use and
enjoyment of the Roman Catholics of Allegany coun-
ty, he is hereby authorised and fully empowered to sell
and dispose of the same, and the money arising from
