CHAP. 263.

cester county, that they are desirous of changing the
location of said academy and of locating the same near-
er to the village of Berlin in said county; and whereas,
it is believed that said location would better subserve
the purposes of education and extend the usefulness of
said academy, Therefore:

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Trustees of the Buckingham Aca-
demy, in Worcester county, be, and they are hereby
authorised and required to remove said school, and to
locate and fix the said academy as near to the village
of Berlin as a suitable situation or lot of ground can
be obtained, and as soon as a sufficient building shall
be erected thereon.

SEC. 2. And be if enacted, That the seventh section
of the act, entitled, an act to incorporate the Bucking-
ham Academy, in Worcester county, passed at Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and thirteen, chapter
thirteen, to which this is a supplement, fixing the loca-

tion of said academy, be, and the same is hereby re-
pealed, and the said academy shall be fixed and located
upon the lot of ground near the village of Berlin, as is

provided in the first section of this act; provided, that
nothing in this act shall be construed to require the
removal of said school until the said lot has been ob-
tained and the said building erected.

Title to proper-

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act
sball be construed to affect the title or right of the said
trustees to any property held by or in trust for them,
or tbeir right to receive any moneys which they are
authorised by law to receive, but all such property and
money shall he held or received by them as heretofore,
for the benefit of the academy as herein directed to be
fixed and located, in the same manner as if the said
academy tad been originally located as is herein di-

rected; Provided, that the lot and house now used by
the said trustees shall be kept for a common school as
before the act of incorporation, and for that purpose
the trustees shall have power to convey said school
house and lot, in their discretion, to any person or per-
sons for that purpose, or they may retain the title to
and direction of the same, in the same manner as be-
fore the act of incorporation to which this is a supple-
