the polling places throughout the State shall open at
six A. M. and shall close at 7 P. M.
E. Amending Section 17 of said Article 33, so as to
provide for cases of women claiming citizenship by
marriage, and for the recording of the sex of applicants
for registration.
F. Amending Section 6 of said Article 33, so as to
increase the clerical force of the Supervisors of Elec-
tions of Baltimore City, and providing compensation
therefor.
G. Adding a new section to said Article 33, to be
known as Section 118-A, so as to increase the compen-
sation of judges and clerks of elections and registration
officials.
R. Providing for the payment of expenses incurred
under the provisions of this Act.
1. Extending the application of said Article 33 so as
to include the feminine gender.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That a new section be and the same is
hereby added to Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland, title "Elections, " said new section to fol-
low immediately after Section 23 of said Article 33, to
be known as Section 23-A, and to read as follows:
23-A. In the year 1920, in Baltimore City, in addi-
tion to the registration days provided for in Section
20, there shall be a meeting of said Board of Registry
on the Thursday following the Wednesday four weeks
preceding such regular election, and said meeting shall
be for the same purposes and for the performance of
the same duties provided for in said Section 20. In
the year 1920, in Baltimore City, the said Board of
Registry shall meet on Tuesday three weeks preceding
such regular election for the purposes and for the per-
formance of the duties provided for in Section 22, and
the provisions of Section 23 of said Article 33 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland shall not apply to the
meeting so held. In the year 1920, in Baltimore City,
the said Board! of Registry shall again meet on Friday
following the Tuesday three weeks preceding such reg-
