27 ~ [13 September 1692] Request for bounty payment due to an Indian Somerset County. These may Certifie that three years ago an Indian boy, likely the bearer, brought before me a wolfs tongue & ear caused(?) cut for which (I) gave him a certificate & told him he must carry it to Court, where he would be allowed as Englishmen for the like service, but (he) hath several times complained saying he did carry the certificate & laid it on the Court table, but as yett saith had no allowance. Given under my hand this 25th of June 1692. David Browne By the bearer Monacho. Upon w’ch foresd certificate Mr George Layfield promised to give the sd Indian a Match coat. Ordered said Layfield be pd for sd Match coat out of the next County Leavy.
