191 ~ Case against William Piper for stealing a hog of Christopher Snoswell of Manokin on 10 January 1690, valued at 200 lbs/pork; Peter Dent Clerk of Presentments; evidences Henry Sassnett, Samuel Worthington; Piper pleads not guilty; Sheriff calls Jury: James Curtis (foreman), Alexander Thomas, Lawrence Gary, James Langreen, George Goddard, Moses Fenton, Richard Cary, Somerset Dickinson, John Gray, Roger Odowey, Thomas Smith, William Wallace (Wallis); Court orders Piper to pay Snoswell and fees.
192 ~ Case against William Burch, laborer, for stealing several hogs, one bull and one heifer from Francis Jenckins, all valued at 2000 lbs/tbco, on 25 October 1692 in Wicomico; Peter Dent Clerk of Indictments; Burch pleads not guilty; Sheriff calls Jury: Miles Gray (foreman), Thomas Morris, John Kellam, John Jones, John Starlin, George Lane, Samuel Johnson, Anthony Jones, Teague Quillane (Quillaine), Teague Riggen, Jun., Thomas Gillett, William Keens, Jun.; evidences: Thomas Relph, Esau Boston, Richard Cary; Jury finds Burch guilty of shooting one bull, valued at 300 lbs/tbco; Court orders Burch pay fourfold with costs; put in Sheriff’s custody until security is posted.
192 ~ Case against William Layton, laborer, for stealing hogs of Benjamin Cottman on 18 December 1691 in Wicomico; Peter Dent Clerk of Presentments; Layton pleads not guilty; Sheriff calls Jury - same as for case against Piper (f.191); evidences: Benjamin Cottman, Thomas Relph, Thomas Horseman; Jury finds Layton guilty of stealing one hog weighing 84 pounds; Court orders he pay Cottman fourfold - 336 lbs/pork and fees; put in Sheriff’s custody until security is posted.
193 ~ Layton posts security of £10; Cornelius Anderson security.
194 ~ Charles Mullen asks payment for 4 days attendance at Court; case against William Burch.
194 ~ Petition of John Swaine for a “referment” to next Court when he will appear; states that he was made lame by timber falling on his leg; granted.
194 ~ Case against Ellis Coleman and wife, Damarias; continued until June Court due to lack of evidences; posts bond of £40 for appearance, securities Anthony Jones, William Bowden.
194 ~ Walter Lane, Pltf. vs Somerset Dickinson, Deft.; Lane is executor for estate of Josias Seaward; James Sangster, attorney for Lane, says Dickinson is indebted to estate for 400 lbs/tbco; Peter Dent attorney for Dickinson denies claim; Court rules a non-suit; plaintiff to pay costs.
195 ~ Lawrence Crawford. Pltf. vs. Somerset Dickinson, son and heir of Edward Dickinson; claim is made on behalf of estate of John White, for which Crawford’s wife Sarah is administratrix; James Sangster, attorney for Crawford, claims debt of 507 lbs/tbco due to John White from 15 January 1690; Peter Dent, attorney for Dickinson, says no adminstrator was appointed to the estate; Court rules non-suit; plaintiff to pay costs.
196 ~ George Layfield and wife Elizabeth, Pltf vs. Thomas Morris, tinman, Deft. for debt of 1400 lbs/tbco; Elizabeth Layfield is relict and executrix of Colonel William Stevens; Peter Dent, attorney for Layfield, presents note of debt to Colonel Stevens, dated 8 October, 1686 at Pocomoke, signed by Morris, then living with Mr. Rounds at Assateague, “for like value given the said Morris to Anne Roberts”, witnessed by James Round, John Vigerous; backo of note gives credit for 6 bushels of mault @ 60 lbs/tbco each; Court awards Layfield the balance of 1160 lbs/tbco.
197 ~ George Layfield and wife, Pltf. vs. John Coleston, Deft. for debt of 1300 lbs/tbco due the estate of Colonel William Stevens; Peter Dent, attorney for Layfield, presents note of debt signed by Coleston dated 7 November 1687 at Pocomoke; witnesses: Richard Farewell, John Rowell; note on back of bill credits 450 lbs/tbco paid to Thomas Jones, signed by Edmund Howard; Coleston admits debt; Court orders he pay the balance of 850 lbs/tbco and costs.
198 ~ George Layfield, Pltf. vs. George Banam (Baynam), Deft. for debt of 537 lbs/tbco; Peter Dent, attorney for Layfield, presents note of debt signed by Baynam on 11 June 1691; witnesses: Robert Sample, Martha Gregory; Baynam admits debt; Court orders he pay with costs.
199 ~ Note of debt of John Trubshaw to Robert King for 210 lbs/tbco entered into record by John King; Francis Jenckins, administrator for Trubshaw, acknowledges and will pay.

200 ~ Copy of survey for 200 acre tract, New Wood Hall, entered into record; surveyed for Richard Farewell on 10 November 1686, on north side of Rehobeth Creek, north side of Pocomoke River, adjacent to Wood Hall; Sam Cooper Deputy Surveyor for Somerset.
200 ~ Court adjourns until following day.
