10 ~ [14 August 1695] Case against John Broughton for being drunk and swearing in Court Their Ma’ties agst. The said John was this day fined for drunkenness & swearing John Broughton in open Court according to the rules of Court fined ~~ Ordered that John Broughten give security for the clearing a road. Whereupon came the sd John Broughton & his security John Webb & the sd Broughton did acknowledge himself to be indebted to their Ma’ties the summ of five pounds & the sd Webb in the sum of fifty shillings due to be leavied on their goods & chattels Lands & tenements for their Ma’ties uses ~~~~ The Condition of which Recognizance is such that if the sd Broughton doth within 21 days after this Court clear & make such sufficient road & bridges for horse & cart from the present Court house to Mr. William Nobles house & the lower way by Edw’d Stevens next the river which was the former way & pay Court charges then the Recognizance shall be void & of non effect, otherwayes to be in full power force & virtue. |
