CHAPTER 486.

AN ACT to amend Article 4, of the Code of Public Laws of
Maryland, entitled, "City of Baltimore" by the addition
thereto of three new Sections, relating to the keepers of
junk shops, and second-hand dealers and their employees,
in the City of Baltimore, and prescribing a penalty for the
violation of the provisions of said Sections.

Be it enacted, That Article 4 as codified and compiled un-
der the direction of S. S. Field, City Solicitor, in the year
1915, be and the same is hereby amended by the addition
thereto of three new Sections to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 663q of said codification in said Article 4, in the year,
1915, all of said new Sections hereby added to be preceded by
the sub-title, "Keepers of Junk Shops, and Second-Hand Deal-
ers and the Employees of the same, " said new Sections so
added to be numbered respectively, 663r, 663s and 663t of
said Article 4 and to read respectively as follows:

Section 663r. It shall be unlawful for any keeper, owner,
proprietor or employee of any junk shop within the City of
Baltimore, or for any owner, proprietor or employee of any
second-hand store within said City to barter, purchase, ex-
change, buy or accept from any person whatsoever, except
plumbers holding licenses as such, or the owner or owners of
buildings from which the material is taken, any pipe, faucet,
boilers, spigots, coils, lead, solder, copper, alloys of metals or
manufactures of metals, tin plate, or any other like material
whatever, or to barter, purchase, exchange, buy, receive or
accept any other second-hand goods, wares, or merchandise of
any kind or nature whatever, without providing and keeping
books, and making therein at the time of such purchase, ex-
change, receiving or accepting, the entries hereinafter pro-
vided.

Section 663s. Every owner of such junk shops and second-
hand stores shall provide and constantly keep a book, in which
shall be fairly written down in the English language, at the
time of every purchase of any such material, a description of
