certify under the seal of the corporation to the Treasurer the
amount of benefits so assessed who shall forthwith enter the
same on his books against the property so assessed, and the
said benefits shall be collected as the Town taxes are now col-
lected, provided that no property shall be sold for the payment
of benefits until after the expiration of six months from the
date of the passage of the ordinance by said Commissioners.

CHAPTER 464.
AN ACT authorizing and directing the Police Commissioners
of Baltimore City to pay to James E. Dempsey, a retired
policeman of the Baltimore City Police Department, a pen-
sion of ten dollars per week.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Police Commissioners of Baltimore City
are hereby authorized and directed to pay to James E. Demp-
sey, a retired policeman of the Baltimore City Police Depart-
ment, out of the funds in their possession, or subject to their
control, a weekly pension of Ten Dollars, payable to the said
Dempsey on the last day of each week, for and during a period
of two years.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after the first day of June, Nineteen Hundred
and Sixteen.

CHAPTER 465.
AN ACT to provide for the laying of improved sidewalks along
avenues, streets and roads in Baltimore County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That whenever the property owners owning a major-
ity of feet fronting or binding in the aggregate at least one
hundred feet and not over seven hundred feet on the same
side of any street, avenue or road in Baltimore County, shall
