towards the one town or place, and from the other town or
place, together with the names of the places and number of
miles apart, all designated in large enough type to be seen by
travellers at a distance of not less than fifty yards.

These signboards are to be placed on the principal main
roads of the County, at such towns, points, crossroads and
forks, as will serve for the convenience of public traffic.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from June 1st, 1916.

CHAPTER 448.

AN ACT to authorize and empower William Preston Creighton
to construct a wharf on the South side of Back Creek in
Hooper's Island or No. 6 Election District in Dorchester
County, Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That William Preston Creighton of Dorchester
County, be and is hereby authorized and empowered to con-
struct and erect a wharf on the South side of Back Creek in
Hooper's Island or No. 6 Election District in Dorchester
County, in front of and contiguous to the lands of said Wil-
liam Preston Creighton, said wharf to extend into Honga River
a distance not exceeding four hundred feet, and of a width
not exceeding one hundred feet, provided that said wharf shall
be constructed and erected on or before the first day of Janu-
ary, A. D. 1917.

Approved April 11th, 1916.

CHAPTER 449.

AN ACT to authorize Homer H. Murphy and John O. Murphy
to construct in front of their land on Tedious Creek, in
Straits Election District in Dorchester County, Maryland,
