commissioners, of which said election and the purpose thereof
at least two weeks' notice shall be given by notice published in
two local papers, and posted in conspicuous places in said
town, giving the hours and place of holding said election; and
if the majority of said voters shall declare "For New Charter"
the provisions of this Act, Sections 91 to 116G, inclusive, shall
immediately -upon the announcement of said returns, be and
become in full force and virtue in law, and become the Charter
of said town, superseding and annuling all prior charters or
Acts relating thereto; but should the majority of said voters
declare "Against New Charter, " then and in that event the
present and existing town charter, as enacted by the Acts of
1912, chapter 720, shall remain in full force and effect in
law as the charter of said town of La Plata; and it shall be
the duty of the officials at said election to canvas the ballots,
immediately upon the close of the polls and to certify the
returns to the Board of Town Commissioners, who shall cause
the result thereof to be posted in five or more conspicuous
places about said town, within twenty-four hours after the
holding of said election, declaring whether or not this Act has
been accepted or rejected by said voters as the town charter
of said town of La Plata.

91. The citizens of the town of La Plata, in Charles Coun-
ty, are hereby created a body corporate by the name of Town
Commissioners of La Plata, with all the power and privileges
of a body corporate, and by said corporate name may have
perpetual succession, may sue and be sued and may have and
use a common seal.

92. The corporate limits of said town shall be as follows:
Beginning at a stone fixed in the earth on the South side of
the main road leading through said Town of La Plata from
Bryantown to Port Tobacco, which point of beginning is South
seventy-eight and one-half (78 1/2) degrees, west eight hun-
dred and ninety-eight (898) feet from the south meridian
stone in the Court House yard, and running thence south five
and one-half (5 1/2) degrees east, continuing., and extending
with the dividing line between lands of the late William T.
Maurice, deceased, and L. Allison Wilmer fifteen hundred and
thirty-eight (1538) feet to a set stone; then south eighty-eight
(88) degrees east twenty-five hundred and ninety-five (2595)
feet to a set stone; then north twenty-nine and one-fourth
(29 1/4) degrees east twenty-five hundred and thirty (2530)
feet to a stone on the north side of the aforementioned main
