children at or near Mount Victoria in Charles County, the
said money to be paid to the School Commissioners of said
Charles County, for the aforesaid purpose, on or before the
first day of November, 1916.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1916.

Approved April 11th, 1916.

CHAPTER 434.

AN ACT to amend the Charter of Mount Airy, in Carroll and
Frederick Counties, Maryland, by repealing Section W,
Chapter 341, Acts of 1900, and re-enacting the same as
amended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Section W, Chapter 341, Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, of the year 1900, be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted so as; to read as follows: "The
Mayor and Council shall annually levy such a tax upon all
assessable property within the corporate limits, except upon
such real estate as is used exclusively for fanning purposes,
as may be necessary for municipal purposes, not to exceed in
any one year the sum of Forty Cents ($. 40) on the One Hun-
dred Dollars ($100. 00) and all taxes levied on property as-
sessed as provided by this Act shall be a lien on said property
—real and personal—until paid and interest shall be charge-
able on said taxes after thirty (30) days from the time when
said taxes are due and payable. "

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall become oper-
ative and be effective on and after the first day of July, in the
year nineteen hundred and sixteen.

CHAPTER 435.

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Prince
George's County, Maryland, to levy a sum of money to build
a school house for colored children at or near Bowie in
Election District No. 14.
