SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the, General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 52 and 58 of the Baltimore City Charter
be and the same are hereby repealed and Section 52 be and it is
hereby re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as follows:

"52. The Mayor shall appoint in the mode prescribed in
section 25 of this Article, and he shall hold his office as therein
provided, one Collector for Baltimore City, for the collection
of all State taxes levied or to be levied for any year; provided,
however, that the City Collector shall be the Collector of State
taxes and perform the duties as herein provided, unless other-
wise provided by ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore.

Approved March 21st, 1916.

CHAPTER 39.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners
of Calvert County, to sell or lease certain portions of the
Court House Lot in Prince Frederick, Calvert County,
which are not needed for public purposes, and apply the
proceeds to County purposes.

WHEREAS, the Building Committee appointed by Chapter
436 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, Session
1914, have erected a new court house upon the public lot in
Prince Frederick, known as the "Court House Lot" and it is
authorized and empowered to lay off and set apart a portion of
the lot for a court house yard, roadways and other public pur-
poses, and

WHEREAS, all of the ground contained in the said Court
House Lot is not needed for the public use and purposes above
set forth and that the County Commissioners have heretofore
from time to time granted to certain citizens permission to
erect upon the said lot certain buildings, which are now
located upon ground needed for the public use.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Calvert County, be
and they are hereby authorized and empowered to divide into
building lots that portion of the said Court House Lot which
is not needed for the public use and purposes, aforesaid and
lease for a term of years or sell the same for a fair and valuable
