"Bureau of Immigration, " be and the same are hereby re-
pealed.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from June 1st, 1916.

CHAPTER 398.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Union Turnpike Com-
pany to advertise for unlocated and unknown stockholders,
and after so doing to distribute its assets among the known
and located stockholders.
WHEREAS, The Union Turnpike Company of Montgomery
County, Maryland, was authorized by an Act passed at the
Session of 1914, Chapter 304, and approved April 4th, 1914,
to close its affairs and to file a bill for its dissolution; and,
WHEREAS, There are some of the stockholders that cannot
be located, nor can their heirs be located so far, therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Ma/ryland; That the Treasurer of the Union Turnpike Com-
pany be, and he is hereby authorized and empowered to adver-
tise in a newspaper published in the City of Washington, Dis-
trict of Columbia; a newspaper published in the City of Balti-
more, State of Maryland, and a newspaper published in Rock-
ville, Montgomery County, Maryland, notifying said stock-
holders, or their heirs, to present their claims on or before
the first day of August, 1916.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That after the payment of said
claimants and the expenses of settling up the affairs of said
company, the Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and em-
powered to divide the balance, or surplus, that may remain
of the assets of said company, pro-rata among the located
stockholders.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after the first day of June, Nineteen Hundred
and Sixteen.
