Compensation under this Article to alien dependent widows,
children and parents, not residents of the United States, shall
be the same in amount as is provided in each case for residents,
except that, at any time within one year after an accident re-
sulting in death, the Commission may in its discretion convert
any payments thereafter to become due to such beneficiaries
into a lump sum payment, not in any case to exceed twenty-four
hundred dollars, by paying a sum equal to three-fourths of the
then value of such payments.

Non-resident alien dependents may be officially represented
by the Consular officers of the nation of which such alien or
aliens may be citizens or subjects, and in such cases the Con-
sular officers shall have the right to receive, for distribution to
such non-resident alien dependents, all compensation awarded
hereunder, and the receipt of such Consular officers shall be a
full discharge of all sums paid to and received by them.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after June 1st, 1916, but that its application
as between employers and employes shall date only from and
after the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and
sixteen.

CHAPTER 369.

AN ACT to declare the sanction and consent of the General As-
sembly of Maryland to sundry gifts, bequests and devises
contained in the last wills and testaments of certain persons,
deceased, and also to certain gifts, grants, sales, leases and
deeds made by various persons to and for the use and benefit
of sundry ministerial persons, religious corporations, edu-
cational institutions, denominations or sects, and to certain
charitable institutions hereinafter named.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the sanction and consent of said General As-
sembly of Maryland be and the same is hereby declared, given
and granted to the following gifts, bequests, devises, grants,
sales, leases, conveyances and deeds, to and from certain per-
sons and bodies corporate to and for the use of certain min-
isterial persons, religious and educational corporations, orders,
denominations and sects, and to certain charitable institutions
hereinafter named and as herein set forth:
