CHAPTER 313.
AN ACT to create a Sanitary District in Prince George's and
Montgomery Counties, contiguous to the District of Colum-
bia Line; to provide for the appointment of a Commission
charged with the duty of making investigations and design-
ing water supply, drainage and sewerage systems for said
district, and studying and reporting upon methods under
which the construction of such systems may be executed;
and to provide for the issuance of bonds to cover the ex-
penses of said commission.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That all that part of Prince George's and Mont-
gomery Counties within the following bounds—within the
bounds as described on the drawing entitled "State of Mary-
land, Montgomery and Prince George's Counties Sewerage
Commission, Proposed Washington Suburban Sanitary Dis-
trict, Main Drainage Systems, " Plate 1 and dated January,
1914, on file in the office of the State Department of Health of
Maryland, being those sections of Montgomery and Prince
George's Counties adjacent to the District of Columbia and
comprising all of the drainage areas of Little Falls Branch
and Oxon Run, and all of the territory drainage to Rock
Creek, south of a point one-half mile north of the bridge
spanning Rock Creek on the road running northeast from
Garrett Park, and all of the territory draining to the Ana-
costia River and its tributaries south of the confluence of
Indian Creek and Beaverdam Creek, south of the confluence
of Paint Branch and Little Paint Branch, and south of a point
one-half mile north of the road crossing Northwest Branch at
Burnt Mills, be and the same is hereby incorporated, for the
purposes hereinafter set forth, to be known as "The Washing-
ton Suburban Sanitary District. "
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That the investigations
for and design of water supply, sewerage and drainage sys-
tems in said district shall be under the jurisdiction of a Com-
mission of three members, one to be appointed by the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County, and one to be ap-
pointed by the County Commissioners of Montgomery County,
both upon the recommendation of the State Board of Health,
on or before June 15th, 1916, and the third to be appointed by
the Governor June 15th, 1916. The appointees of the respec-
tive County Commissioners shall be residents and taxpayers
