one dollar and fifty cents. And in addition to said pay, each
enlisted man shall receive rations as prescribed by the regula-
tions of the United States Army, and United States Navy,
respectively, or commutation thereof at a rate not exceeding
forty cents per day; each enlisted man, who has served a full
term of enlistment and who re-enlists within 90 days after the
expiration of this previous enlistment, shall receive an in-
crease of ten per cent, of his pay during this enlistment, and
for each full term of enlistment served thereafter an increase
of ten per cent, will be granted, until forty per cent, is reached.
Section 62. All enlisted men who qualify in accordance,
with the requirements of the course prescribed by order of the
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in small arms practice
shall be entitled to the following increase in the pay of his
grade during the year succeeding the season of said qualifica-
tions and beginning on January 1st following; and, provided,
further, that said enlisted man, qualified as aforesaid, shall be
present at the annual inspection of his organization next suc-
ceeding said qualifications: Experts, twenty per cent.; sharp-
shooters, fifteen per cent.; and marksmen, ten per cent.
Section 63. The general appropriations for the militia
shall be exclusively applied to the necessary and contingent
expenses of the adjutant general's office and to the mainte-
nance and equipment and for the general efficiency of the
Maryland National Guard, enlisted and organized as provided
for in this Article, and for the purchase and distribution of
authorized medals to the duly commissioned and enlisted per-
sonnel of the National Guard of this State. The money to be
allotted to the various organizations of the Maryland National
Guard shall be distributed and applied on warrant of the adju-
tant general, under and by direction of the Governor as Com-
mander-in-Chief, to the respective organizations constituting
said Maryland National Guard, so as to promote the military
efficiency of all said respective organizations, without distinc-
tion, as the same may be needed by them respectively, except
that the amount appropriated for the Naval Brigade, and that
amount only, shall be distributed and applied as aforesaid to
and for the use of the Naval Brigade, so as to promote the
efficiency and discipline thereof (and it shall be the duty of
the commanding officer of such regiment and separate organi-
zation to receive or to designate and appoint some other officer
as treasurer or fiscal officer or receive such moneys as may be
allotted to such regiment or separate organization respectively,
