SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after the first day of June, 1916.

CHAPTER 276.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Potomac River and
Baltimore Railway Company, a corporation of the State of
Maryland, and the Washington, Newport News Short Line,
a corporation of the State of Virginia, to construct, main-
tain and operate a bridge and approaches thereto, across the
Potomac River.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Potomac River and Baltimore Railway Company,
a corporation of the State of Maryland, and the Washington,
Newport News Short Line, a corporation of the State of Vir-
ginia, be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to con-
struct, maintain and operate as a part of their railroads between
Maryland and Virginia a bridge and approaches thereto, cross
the Potomac River from a point in Charles County from the
north bank of the Potomac River, 1, 320 feet westerly from the
steamboat landing at Riverside, Charles County, Maryland,
thence S. 38° 10' E. on an angle of 90° to the main channel of
said river for a distance of 8, 800 feet to a point on the south
bank of said Potomac River, which is S. 88° 49V E., a distance of
1, 640. 2 feet from, the Government monument on Metomkin Point
in, King George's County;, Virginia, or as near said points as
may be found practicable, subject nevertheless to all the pro-
visions of the laws of the. United States regulating the construc-
tion of bridges of the navigable waters of the United States or
any State thereof.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on and after June. 1st, 1916.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Town Commissioners of
Queenstown, a municipal corporation, in Queen Anne's
County, State of Maryland, to grade and improve the Main
