to relieve said bank from the provisions of Chapter 109 of
the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed in
1892, and all amendments thereto, excepting in so far as
said Act and the amendments thereto, may apply to State
banks generally, throughout the State of Maryland, and
authorizing and directing the Treasurer of Maryland to sur-
render to said Park Bank, formerly the Dime Savings Bank
of Baltimore City, such bonds or securities as may have been
deposited with him by said bank, by virtue of the provisions
of Chapter 109 of the Acts of 1892, and amendments there-
to, and to provide for the retrospective and prospective con-
struction of this Act.
WHEREAS, The charter of the Park Bank, at that time, the
Dime Savings Bank of Baltimore City, Maryland, situated and
doing business in the City of Baltimore, was by Chapter 579
of Acts of 1908, amended so that said bank was made subject
to the provisions of Chapter 109 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1892 and all amendments thereto, and by virtue
thereof, has been required to place on deposit with the Treas-
urer of the State of Maryland certain bonds and securities;
and
WHEREAS, By Chapter 219 of the Acts of 1910, entitled
"Banks and Trust Companies, " a general banking law has
been passed by the said General Assembly, regulating all the
banks the State of Maryland, and it is desired to place the said
Park Bank, formerly the Dime Savings Bank of Baltimore
City, located in Baltimore City, on the same basis as other
State banks, situated in the State of Maryland; now, there-
fore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the charter of the Park Bank, formerly the Dime
Savings Bank of Baltimore City, be, and it is hereby amended
so as to relieve said bank from the provisions of said chapter
109 of Acts of the General Assembly of 1892, and all amend-
ments thereto, excepting in so far as the provisions of said
Chapter 109 of the Acts of 1892, and the amendments thereto
may apply to State banks generally throughout the State of
Maryland.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Treasurer of Maryland, be, and he is here-
by authorized and empowered and directed forthwith, to sur-
render to said Park Bank, formerly the Dime Savings Bank of
