SEC. 9. And be it further enacted, That the moneys in the
hands of the Chevy Chase Improvement Association, a corpora-
tion formed for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of
Chapter 383 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland
of 1910, or of the Treasurer of said Association and all moneys
due said Association or its treasurer and all property of what-
soever character in the possession or control of said Chevy
Chase Improvement Association shall be turned over to the
said Citizens' Committee named in this Act which shall succeed
to all the duties, rights and privileges of the Board of Directors
of said Chevy Chase Improvement Association! not inconsistent
with the provisions of this Act.
SEC. 10. And be it further enacted, That Chapter 383 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1910, author-
izing special levies for the Village of Chevy Chase, be and the
same is hereby repealed in so far as the same may apply to
that part of said Village known as H. M. Martin's Additions
1, 2, 3 and 4 to the Village of Chevy Chase, Maryland, and
herein defined as Martin's Additions 1, 2, 3 and 4 to the Vil-
lage of Chevy Chase.
SEC. 11. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 240.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the County Commissioners of
Howard County to levy annually a sum of money to con-
struct roads in said County; providing for a special tax
upon, property in said County specially benefited by im-
proved road construction, and to authorize the County Com-
missioners and the County Collector to perform certain
duties as to said special tax.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Howard County shall
at the time of making their annual levy, levy upon the taxable
property of said County, a sum not less than Ten Thousand
Dollars, which shall be expended for the construction of roads
and highways in accordance with the provisions of this Act.
