cluding tuition, board and room, rent and twenty-six scholar-
ships covering tuition only, as provided in Chapter 111 of the
Acts of 1908, Chapter 208 of the Acts of 1894, Chapter 315
of the Acts of 1878, Resolution 41 of the Acts of 1832 and
Resolution 38 of the Acts of 1811.
98. To the St. Mary's Female Seminary, the sum of seven
thousand five hundred dollars for the fiscal year 1917, and the
like sum of seven thousand five hundred dollars for the fiscal
year 1918, in return for which the said Seminary shall fur-
nish twenty-seven scholarships, including board, tuition and
room rent, as provided in Chapter 193 of the Acts of 1868.
99. To the Visitors and Governors of. Washington College,
the sum of twenty-eight thousand two hundred and seventy-five
dollars for the fiscal year 1917, and the like sum of twenty-
eight thousand two hundred and seventy-five dollars for the
fiscal year 1918, in return for which, the said College shall fur-
nish thirty-six scholarships covering free tuition, board, room
rent and text-books, twenty-five covering free tuition and text-
books, and fifty covering free tuition, as provided in Chapter
309 of the Acts of 1910, Chapter 293 of the Acts of 1898,
Chapter 188 of the Acts of 1896, Chapter 154 of the Acts of
1892, Chapter 339 of the Acts of 1870, Chapter 219 of the
Acts of 1856, Resolution 34 of the Acts of 1847 and Resolu-
tion 35 of the Acts of 1839, together with the further sum of
ten thousand dollars for the fiscal year 1917, and the like sum
of ten thousand dollars for the fiscal year 1918, to be used for
the erection of buildings.
100. To the Western Maryland College, the sum of twenty-
two thousand seven hundred dollars for the fiscal year 1917,
and the like sum of twenty-two thousand seven hundred dol-
lars for the fiscal year 1918, in return for which the said Col-
lege shall furnish fifty-four scholarships covering free tuition
and board for one male and one female student from each
Senatorial district in the State, and fourteen scholarships cov-
ering tuition, two from each election district of Carroll county,
as provided by Chapter 106 of the Acts of 1898, Chapter 279
of the Acts of 1890 and Chapter 239 of the Acts of 1878.
101. To the Maryland State University, the sum of twen-
ty-five thousand dollars for the fiscal year 1917, and the like
sum of twenty-five thousand dollars for the fiscal year 1918,
to be used for medical education.
102. To the F. Knapp's English and German Institute
for the Indigent Deaf, the sum of twelve hundred dollars for
the fiscal year 1917, and the like sum of twelve hundred dol-
