AND WHEREAS, before the completion of said Armory Build-
ing, the said L. J. Whalen & Company went into the hands
of Receivers, owing a large sum of money to certain persons,
firms and corporations for material furnished and labor sup-
plied in the construction of said Armory Building.

AND WHEREAS, the material supplied and the labor fur-
nished said contractors were used in and for the erection of
said Armory Building, which the State of Maryland is now
enjoying, but for which the said contractors have never paid.

AND WHEREAS, as the State of Maryland is the recipient and
beneficiary of the materials and labor furnished as aforesaid,
it is, therefore, just and proper that an appropriation be made
to pay for said labor and materials. Therefore:

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That, the Treasurer of Maryland be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to pay upon the warrant of
the Comptroller, to the State Armory Commission No. 2, as
provided by Chapter 791, Acts of 1914, page 1401, for the sum
of $7, 850. 48, to pay the bills due and unpaid for materials and
labor furnished in the building of the State Armory in Bel
Air, Harford County, Maryland.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That from the money
so received by the State Armory Commission, they shall pay
the following bills:

W. J. Shanahan, for stone and teams.. $1, 920. 62
Bel Air Electric Co., Electric Wiring... 547. 13
H. B. Bruns, balance hauling stone..... 31. 89

McComas Brothers, lumber........... 3, 574. 71

Boarman & Bradford, hardware........ 24. 45

William J. Smith, sand,.............. 150. 00

John J. Bradley, labor and plumbing... 524. 65
Noah Small, labor.................... 15. 00

all of said bills being for materials supplied and labor fur-
nished in the construction of said State Armory Building.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the first day of June, 1916. ,

Approved April 26th, 1. 916.
