section thereto to come in after Section 214-A, and to be des-
ignated as 214Aa, directing the Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Anne Arundel County to submit quarterly to the County
Commissioners a statement of cases where Sheriff's fees
have been charged or collected; and also to repeal and re-
enact with amendments Section 214-B, as enacted by Chap-
ter 551 of the Acts of 1902.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 214 and 214-A of Article 2 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title
"Sheriff", as the same were enacted by Chapter 551 of the
Acts of 1902, be, and the same are hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments, and that a new section be enacted to
come in after Section 214-A, and to be designated as 214-Aa,
and that Section 214-B of said Article 2 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "Sheriff",
as the same was enacted by Chapter 551 of the Acts of 1902,
be, and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments, so that the said four sections shall read as follows:

214. The Sheriff of Anne Arundel County shall receive an
annual salary of three thousand dollars, to be paid to him in
monthly installments of two hundred and fifty dollars by the
County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County, and he shall
be allowed sums, not exceeding in the aggregate three thou-
sand five hundred dollars for any one year, for all expenses of
his office, including clerical assistance, and necessary deputies to
assist him in the discharge of his duties, the said account for
office expenses and deputies to be paid monthly by the County
Commissioners of said County, but only upon the presentation
to them by the sheriff of a full and complete statement, under
oath, setting forth all of the items of said expense accounts
for the month in question, including the names of all deputies
and the amount allowed to each, and all other items of ex-
pense, which statement under oath it is hereby made the duty
of the sheriff to make up and to submit to the said County
Commissioners at the time of each monthly requisition; and
the said County Commissioners shall not pay the said sheriff
for any services he may render in the discharge of his official
duties any further or other compensation and shall not be liable
in any way for any other fee or compensation whatever to said
sheriff than as above provided for the discharge of his official
duties and the expenses of his office, except as follows: For
carrying or conveying any person or persons under sentence
