SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Chapter 582 of the Acts of 1914 of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, adding a new Section to Article
11 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Fred-
erick County, " sub-title "County Commissioners, " and known
as Section 82A, be, and the same is hereby repealed and re-en-
acted with amendments so as to read as follows:
Section 82A. All County taxes shall be due as soon as they
are levied and if not paid on or before the 1st day of January,
next, following the year in which they are levied, shall bear
interest from said 1st day of January, until paid, at the rate
of 6% per annum, and at any time after the 1st day of Jan-
uary next succeeding the date of the levy and not before, pay-
ment may be enforced by sale as provided by law.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the 1st day of June, 1917.

CHAPTER 136.
AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Council of Brunswick,
Frederick County, Maryland, to levy special assessments
and for collecting the same as other town taxes are collected,
or in such manner as may be prescribed by ordinance, upon
property binding on any street or streets, lane or lanes, alley
or alleys, or part thereof, which may have been improved,
graded, paved or curbed, or re-graded, re-paved or re-curbed,
under ordinance or ordinances of said Mayor and Council
of Brunswick; which, ordinance provided for assessing the
whole or any portion of the cost of such work upon the prop-
erty binding upon such street or streets, lane or lanes, alley
or alleys, or part thereof, and the assessments subsequently
made or attempted to be made, for any cause have not been
fully collected by said Mayor and Council of Brunswick.
WHEREAS, certain streets, lanes or alleys, or portions thereof,
in the town of Brunswick, have been improved, graded, paved
or curbed, or re-graded, re-paved or re-curbed, under ordinance
of the Mayor and Council of Brunswick, which provided for
the assessment of the whole, or certain portions of the cost of
such" work, upon the property binding on such streets, lanes or
alleys, or part thereof so improved; some of which assessments
have been paid, and other portions thereof remain uncollected,
