unless necessary. Any person violating any requirement of
this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and sub-
ject upon conviction to a fine not exceeding fifty dollars
($50. 00) for each first offense.

Accidents.

151. In case of any accident, such as collision with a per-
son, animal or vehicle, the operator of the motor vehicle in
such collision must immediately stop and give his name, resi-
dence, and the number of his license to operate, upon demand,
and render such assistance as may be reasonable and necessary
within his power.

If such accident results in a fatality or serious injury to any
person, the operator of the motor vehicle shall within twenty-
four hours report the details of the same to the Commissioner
of Motor Vehicles.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this section
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and subject upon con-
viction to a penalty of not less than twenty-five dollars ($25. 00)
nor more than one hundred dollars ($100. 00) for each first
offense.

In addition the person guilty of such offense shall be sub-
ject to revocation of his operator's license by the Commissioner
of Motor Vehicles as elsewhere in this sub-title provided.

Racing and Intoxication.

152. No person shall operate a motor vehicle on the public
highways of this State when intoxicated, or at all under the
influence of liquor, or drug, or in a race, or on a bet or wager.
Any person violating any provision of this section shall be
deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and subject upon conviction
to a fine of not less than twenty-five dollars ($25. 00) nor more
than one hundred dollars ($100. 00) for each first offense. In
addition the person guilty of such offense shall be subject to the
revocation of his operator's license by the Commissioner of
Motor Vehicles as herein elsewhere provided.

Allowing Motor Vehicles to Stand Unattended.

153. No person operating or in charge or control of any
steam or electric motor vehicle in this State shall allow
the same to stand unattended on any highway without secur-
ing or locking the lever or other device by which the same is
started or taking other reasonable precautions to prevent such
vehicle being started by unauthorized persons; and no person
