shall not be held to affect any other section or provision of this
Act.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect on
June 1st, 1916, and that all Acts or parte of Acts inconsistent
with the provisions of this Act, be and the same are hereby re-
pealed.

CHAPTER 684.
AN ACT making appropriations for the support of the State
Government for the fiscal year ending on the thirtieth day
of September, nineteen hundred and eighteen.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That for the expenditures in the support of the
State Government for the fiscal year beginning with the first
day of October, nineteen hundred and seventeen, and ending
with the thirtieth day of September, nineteen hundred and
eighteen, the following sums of money, or so much thereof as
may be necessary, be and the same are hereby appropriated,
that is to say:
FOR STATE OFFICERS.
For the salary of the Governor, four thousand five hundred
dollars; for the salary of the Secretary of State, two thousand
dollars; for the salary of the Chief Clerk to the Governor,
twenty-four hundred dollars; for the salary of one clerk to the
Governor, two thousand dollars; for the salaries of two clerks
to the Governor, fifteen hundred dollars each, three thousand
dollars; for the salary of the stenographer to the Governor,
twelve hundred dollars; for the salary to the messenger to the
Governor, eleven hundred dollars; for the salary of the Comp-
troller of the Treasury, twenty-five hundred dollars; for the
salary of the Chief Clerk to the Comptroller, twenty-four hun-
dred dollars; for the salary of one assistant clerk to the Comp-
