1526 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 680

502. No person shall, at any time, either in the day or
night time, shoot or kill, or shoot at any wild fowl, in or over
the waters lying northward of the line described in Section
498, from any vessel, boat, float, canoe, sneak boat, sink boat,
or any other craft of any kind or description whatever, within
one-quarter of a mile of any shore in Harford or Cecil Coun-
ty; and any person violating this section shall, on conviction
thereof, be subject to a penalty for each offense of not less
than fifty dollars and not more than one hundred dollars.

503. Any person owning land bordering upon the Chesa-
peake bay, within the limits aforesaid; or his assigns, may, in
the months of October or November, in each year, select and
mark any one point on his shore, as reserved for his gunning
during the season of, or immediately following said selecting
and marking as aforesaid; and thereafter such owner, or their
assigns, shall have, during said season, the exclusive right to
station crafts, gun, or set decoys within the one-quarter of a
mile line from the shore, as now allowed; and also, within
the additional space between said quarter of a mile line and a
line distant one-half a mile from any shore in Harford County,
three hundred yards wide on each side of a line drawn at
right angle to the shore line, from the points selected as afore-
said, to said half a mile line; and any person violating this sec-
tion, shall, on conviction thereof, before any justice of the
peace or Circuit Court of the county where such violation oc-
curs, be subject to a penalty for each offense of not less than
fifty dollars nor more than one hundred dollars, in the discre-
tion of said justice or court.

504. No person shall kill, or shoot at wild water-fowl, in,
on or over the waters of the Chesapeake bay, from any boat,
box or vessel of any kind or description whatever, with any
big or swivel gun, or any kind of gun which cannot be con-
veniently discharged from the shoulder at arm's-length, and
without a rest; and any person violating this section, on con-
viction thereof, shall pay a fine of not less than one hundred
dollars nor more than five hundred dollars for each offense,

505. No person shall gun for or go after wild water-fowl or
shoot at or kill the same northward of the line described in
Section 498, but three days in each week, until the first day
of January, during the season for shooting wild water-fowl,
as fixed by Section 499, and those days prior to the first day
of January shall be Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and on and
after the first day of January shall be Monday, Wednesday,
