1508 LAWS OF MARYLAND. [CH. 680

435. Every such corporation or association desiring to con-
duct racing in Harford County during any calendar year, shall
annually apply to the Harford County Racing Commission for
a license so to do. Such application shall be filed with the
secretary of the commission on or before the first day of April
of the year during which such dates are applied for, and shall
specify the days on which such racing is desired to be con-
ducted or held, and such application shall be otherwise in such
form and supply such data and information as said racing
commission shall prescribe. Said racing commission shall
thereupon on or before the 15th day of April of each year
award all dates for racing in Harford County for the current
year, but such dates so awarded shall not exceed sixty days in
the aggregate, and the decision of the commission on the award
of all such dates shall be final. No one corporation or associa-
tion shall receive more than thirty racing days in any one year,
divided into not more than two meetings and no dates shall be
awarded for any meeting to be held during the months of
December, January, February and March of any year, nor
shall more than one meeting be held on any one day of the
year in Harford County.

436. Each applicant desiring to hold races on the day or
days awarded by the commission shall before the issuance of
any license, and on or before the first day of May following the
allotment of such days, pay to the said commission a license
fee as follows: $10. 00 for each day of any meeting for the
conduct of running races, up to seven days, and $200. 00 a day
for each additional day thereof, and $10. 00 for each day of
any meeting for trotting or pacing horses. And the said ap-
plicant, excepting only regularly incorporated agricultural
associations holding not more than two meetings in one year
of not more than seven days duration, in addition to the license
fee paid as aforesaid to said racing commission, shall pay to
the treasurer of Harford County, Maryland, five per cent, of
the gate receipts of any and all such authorized meetings, to
be used and expended by the County Commissioners of Har-
ford County aforesaid in the construction and maintenance of
the public roads in Harford County, State of Maryland.

Any race meeting whereat four or more running races for
horses shall be held on or advertised for one day shall be
deemed to be a meeting for the conduct of running races under
the terms thereof.

437. Upon the award of days to any applicant and upon
payment of the license fee as above prescribed the commission
