EMERSON C. HARRINGTON, GOVERNOR. 1499

Section 401. The Mayor and City Council of the City of
Havre de Grace be and they are hereby authorized, at their
discretion, to pay to the Havre de Grace and Perryville Bridge
Company, of Harford County, on or before the first day of
September in each year, the sum of three hundred dollars
($300) toward the maintenance of a bridge for foot passengers
and vehicular traffic, across the Susquehanna River, between
the city of Havre de Grace and the town of Perryville, said
payments to begin as soon as said bridge is opened for such
traffic, and to be payable to said corporation, or such other
person or persons, corporation as may own and operate said
bridge; and the said Mayor and City Council may, in their
discretion, provide for and levy in their levy of 1908, and
annually thereafter, on the assessable property in said city, the
amount of money necessary to pay said appropriation.

Section 402. The Mayor and City Council of Havre de
Grace, Maryland, are hereby authorized and directed in their
discretion to contribute for the maintenance and support of
the Havre de Grace Hospital of Harford County the sum of
one thousand dollars ($1, 000) annually, or so much thereof as
they may in their judgment think proper.

HUCKSTERS.

403. It shall not be lawful for any person not a permanent
resident of this State to come into Harford County, for the
purpose of carrying on the business of huckstering, by gather-
ing butter, eggs, poultry, etc., without having first obtained
from the Clerk of the Circuit Court for such county, a license
therefor.

404. For any and every license thus granted, the said clerk
shall demand and be entitled to receive as follows: for a license
to employ not more than one team of not less than three horses
or mules, the sum of eighty dollars; for a license to employ
not more than one team of not more than two horses or mules,
the sum of sixty dollars; for a license to employ not more than
one team of not more than one horse or mule, the sum of forty
dollars.

405. Any person violating the provisions of Section 403,
upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine of fifty dol-
lars, which fine shall be collectible as small debts are now col-
lected, one-half to the informer, and the other half to be ap-
plied to the use of the public schools of the county.
