bonds, in the way and manner, and for the purposes herein-
before provided; and should a majority of said qualified voters
and taxpayers decide at said election against the issuing of
said bonds, then this Act is hereby repealed. And the said
"The Commissioners of Rising Sun" are hereby fully author-
ized to pass all necessary ordinances and to make necessary
appointments for the purposes of holding said election and as-
certaining the true result.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from June 1st, 1916.

CHAPTER 93.

AN ACT to amend Article S of the Code of Public Local Laws
of the State of Maryland, title "Cecil County, " sub-title
"Rising Sun, " by adding two additional sections thereto,
providing for bonding the Town of Rising Sun to pay for
water works now constructed, and to provide for a water
supply for the inhabitants of said town, and for other munic-
ipal improvements, and to submit the question of issuing
said bonds to the vote of the legally qualified voters and tax-
payers of said town.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Article 8, title "Cecil County, " sub-title "Ris-
ing Sun, " be and the same is hereby amended, by adding two
additional Sections thereto to come in after Section 289B, as
amended by the Act of 1912, Chapter 455, of the General As-
sembly of Maryland, providing for supplying water for the
use of the town of Rising Sun, and other municipal improve-
ments, said Sections thereto to be numbered 289C and 289D,
providing for the bonding of said town.

289C. "The Commissioners of Rising Sun" are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to issue on the credit of said town of
Rising Sun, bonds to an amount not exceeding Sixteen Thou-
sand Dollars to pay for the water system and water works al-
ready constructed, and side walks already laid and for appara-
tus for fire protection already furnished, said bonds to be re-
deemable at a period not exceeding twenty years from the date
at which they are issued at the discretion of the said "The
Commissioners of Rising Sun" at a rate of interest not ex-
