CHAPTER 654.
AN ACT to amend and enlarge. the powers conferred by the
Act, - entitled "An Act to confirm the Charter of St.
Anthony's Orphan Asylum in Baltimore City, incorporated
on the tenth day of April, 1858, under the General Laws
of Maryland, and to enlarge the powers of said corporation, "
passed at the March Session, 1860, Chapter 151.
WHEREAS, By the said Act of Incorporation of St. Anthony's
Orphan Asylum in Baltimore City the Rector for the time
being of St. Alphonsus' Church in Baltimore City is made
President of the Board of Managers, with power to veto all
of its Acts;
AND WHEREAS, It being deemed expedient and for the best
interest of the Corporation that its Charter be amended, it
was at a duly warned and convened meeting of the Board of
Managers of St. Anthony's Orphan Asylum in Baltimore City;
Resolved
That the Charter be amended by giving the Rector f or the
time being of St. Alphonsus' Church in Baltimore City, with
the consent of a majority of the Board of Managers of said
Corporation, the right to name as his successor a Rector for
the time being of any other Roman Catholic Church in Balti-
more City under the control and supervision of Catholic
Priests of the Order of the Redemptorists, with all the powers
conferred by the Charter, and with further power in such
successor and his successors, with the consent of a majority
of the Board of Managers, in like manner to name a successor,
with all the powers conferred by the Charter, during the
existence of said Corporation; therefore—
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Rector for the time being of St. Alphonsus'
Church in Baltimore City as President of the Board of Man-
agers of said Corporation be and he is hereby empowered; with
the consent of a majority of the Board of Managers of said
Corporation, to name as his successor a Rector for the time
being of any other Roman Catholic Church in Baltimore City
under the control and supervision of Catholic Priests of the
Order of the Redemptorists, with all of the powers conferred
by the Charter of said Corporation.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That when such succes-
sor is named as provided in the last preceding Section hereof, he
